Head Coach & Co-Owner | CF-L2

Jeremy Johnson

Jeremy started CrossFit in the summer of 2013 at CFU after his wife joined first and, with a little help from Steven and Brittney Caldwell, convinced him to give it a try. Before officially becoming a coach, Jeremy was already heavily involved in the competitive side of the gym, serving as head judge for several CrossFit competitions, including Summer Bash and Icebreaker. He began coaching in February 2020.

What Jeremy enjoys most about coaching is seeing a cue finally click for an athlete and watching that breakthrough happen. He especially enjoys coaching the back squat and deadlift, but his own favorite movements include clean & jerks, pull-ups, bar muscle-ups, dumbbell snatches, and burpees.

In Jeremy’s classes, expect a little organized chaos, some jokes and snark, and a pretty laid-back coaching style. He’ll tell you he doesn’t bring his own enthusiasm, so he’s usually quietly looking for an athlete in class to bring it out of him.
